Travis Jones
Lead Pastor
Pastor Travis Jones faithfully serves the congregation of Highland Baptist Church of El Reno, as Senior Pastor. Since his arrival in August 2010, our church family has been blessed and challenged by his bold, Biblical and practical teaching.
Pastor Travis is nationally recognized for his passion for missions and his teachings on personal discipleship. He stands firm on the Word of God, and applies it to everyday life. As the Senior Editor of the “Chill Out and Serve” weekly blog site, he has been able to encourage and challenge even more Christians in their walk with God. Giving practical insight as to how we can personally disciple other Christians.
Originally from Fort Worth, Texas, Pastor Travis was the Associate Pastor for fourteen years for Metropolitan Baptist Church, under then Senior Pastor, Larry Adkisson. He held a variety of offices and led most of the missions and discipleship ministries of MBC. He has been the director of Cuba Commitment, a networking of missionaries for the advancement of the Gospel in Cuba, and several other mission endeavors. His variety and quality of leadership skills, along with his experience, has proven to be a valuable assent to the Highland Family.
A graduate from Texas Theological University and Seminary, located in Fort Worth, Texas, Pastor Travis holds a Master of Ministry degree. He also earned his Master of Missions degree from Trinity Valley Baptist Seminary, a Bachelor of Science degree in Ministry from Texas Theological University and Seminary, along with a certificate of diploma that transferred to an Associates degree in Bible from Independent Baptist College. In addition, he was formerly the President of Texas Theological University and Seminary.
Pastor Travis met his wife, Lanee’, in the nursery of their home church as teenagers. Lanee’, being a missionary’s daughter, spent a large part of her growing up in South Africa. With her experiences, Lanee’ has been a great blessing to our ladies and an inspiration, by leading in example that God is in control, no matter the circumstances. Travis and Lanee’ were married in 1998, and have three children: Melissa, Madison, and Max.
Under God’s leadership, Pastor Travis has brought the Highland Baptist family to new heights. It is our privilege, as a congregation, to serve alongside our Pastor and his family.

Phil Haberzettle
Associate Pastor
Originally from Fort Worth, TX, Phil moved to El Reno, OK, in 2011, after God called him and his family to serve at Highland Baptist Church. He became full-time staff in 2012… and now serves as an associate. Phil and his wife, Amy, were married in 2006 and have three children: Norah, Lucy and Josie.
Jennifer King
Pastor’s Assistant & Children’s Ministry Director
Jennifer was a visiting guest who found salvation through Basic Bible Truths Bible Study and joined our church family in October 2017. She later joined our staff in 2019 as an Admin Assistant to our Pastor, Travis Jones. Jennifer was a youth leader for Thrive Student Ministry for 5 years and recently, now oversees our Children’s Ministry. Along with her husband, Josh, she helps lead our 1st-6th grade Children’s Ministry on Wednesday nights and they both teach our 4th-6th grade Sunday School on Sunday evenings. Her passion is to serve Christ in every capacity and be a strong support for our church leadership and volunteer teams. Jennifer married her husband, Josh, in December 2021 and they have one son and one on the way.
